La Marina Urb. 28th June power cut
For people who don't know,on the 28th june there will be a power cut from, 08.00am untill 11.00am then the power will be back on untill 15.00 in the afternoon then it will be off again from 15.00 in afternoon untill 18.30pm..The police were putting signs up yesterday explaining the power cut.If you live local to the quicksave or Ajs bar it is posted on the phone box on the corner out side the ferreteria just before Ajs..Sorry Carol my fault here is the info.. Thats ok Carol. Its quite shocking the amount of people ive spoke to this morning that had no idea about this.
I told them where the sign was but, alot of people thought it was just people advertising there work. I know alot of older people dont tend to get out much so if they do keep in touch with this forum then i hope they read it. So to the older people go out with your friends or take a trip to a local bar sit outside and enjoy a cool drink. DO NOT stay at home in the heat why the power is off.
Ian has just re-read the poster that has been put up in the grey area nr the Ferrateria (opposite Barclays). As it is in Spanish he is not sure if it is just one particular area of the urbanisation that will be affected.
Could somebody please let us know if it will be the whole of the urbanisation without power or just a small area?

DO I NEED TO GET UP EARLY TO GET A CUP OF TEA before the electric goes off for 3 hours ?????????? OR will it not affect my area (San Fransisco de Asis) - does anybody know please?

UK TV Packages
We are looking for a system/supplier for a UK TV, phone & broadband package. There are so many companies offering these packages but the equipment & one-off/monthly costs seem to differ greatly from one to another, so that it's difficult to compare them. The TV package needs to have the usual UK freeview channels, plus Sky Sports & Sky News, and the equipment needs to have the facility to record programmes. Can anyone recommend a system and/or supplier ? Any advice gratefully received - thanks !
Hi Jill, for your telephone line and internet, I can highly recommend Telecable, there is an installation charge of around 100 euros, then a monthly payment of approx 20 euros.
All calls to UK landlines are free and the wifi internet is brilliant.
As we live on phaze 5 in La Marina, we paid into the community fund for our TV
Thank you very much for posting that information. How very annoying that will be for us who work in an office, but it's very good to know beforehand that the electricity is going off between those times - usually they just cut you when they feel like it - probably 3 or 4 times in quick succession. I suppose that's all part of living in Spain ??
